As of January 25, the Ukrainian military continues its operation to clear Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region of Russian occupiers. Russian units are trying to break into the city from the north, but without success.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated<\/a> by the spokesman for the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Tregubov.<\/p>\n

According to him, Russian military personnel still remain in several central neighborhoods of Kupyansk, but the operation to liberate the city is continuing according to plan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe clearing of the city is being completed. The Russians are trying to break through from the northern side to somehow replenish their forces in the city, but without success,\u201d said Viktor Tregubov.<\/p>\n

According to him, Ukrainian defenders are not allowing the occupiers to approach Kupyansk and replenish the group that is in the city. Russian military cannot overcome the settlements controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine between them and Kupyansk, which makes even attempts at infiltration impossible.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey cannot even overcome the settlements occupied by Ukrainians between them and Kupyansk directly, so even some infiltration there is extremely difficult to the point of impossible,\u201d the spokesman noted.<\/p>\n

Viktor Tregubov also reported that Kupyansk is currently under the control of Ukrainian military forces, who hold a bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Oskil River. According to him, Russian units are unable to narrow this bridgehead.<\/p>\n

The spokesman added that after the completion of the clearing of several central neighborhoods of the city and the destruction or capture of the last several dozen occupiers, the situation in Kupyansk will change in favor of the Ukrainian forces.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Russian troops currently stationed in Kupyansk, Kharkiv Oblast, are concentrated in several blocks of the city.<\/a><\/p>\n
