Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine prevented an attempted sabotage at a railway infrastructure facility in Khmelnytskyi region. Law enforcement officers detained a minor who was involved by Russian special services in preparing a bomb at the Ukrzaliznytsia station.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the boy is 16 years old. He was recruited by FSB representatives after he looked for part-time work in Telegram channels. At that time, the teenager had already been expelled from a vocational school, and according to law enforcement officers, this was what the Russian supervisors took advantage of.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The first task was to gather information. The young man visited railway stations in the region and tried to understand where the train traffic was most intense. Later, he installed a hidden video camera opposite one of the stations. FSB representatives had access to the broadcast.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In this way, the Russian side hoped to track the schedule of trains, in particular those heading towards front-line territories.<\/p>\n

The next step was to prepare the explosives. The teenager separately purchased components for a homemade explosive device. According to the curators’ plan, the explosives were to be planted near a Ukrzaliznytsia facility and detonated remotely.<\/p>\n

The plan never came to fruition. The SBU counterintelligence uncovered the preparation of the sabotage in advance. During the searches, the components for an explosive device and a phone with correspondence with FSB representatives were seized from the guy. <\/p>\n

The teenager was charged with high treason under martial law. He is currently in custody. The court will decide on further preventive measures.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Operational measures were carried out by SBU officers in the Khmelnytskyi region with the participation of the specialized defense prosecutor’s office of the Western region.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As previously reported, the Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB agent who was preparing a missile strike on the Kropyvnytskyi thermal power plant. The suspect turned out to be a 16-year-old resident of Kropyvnytskyi.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the SBU, together with the Internal Security Service of the Main Intelligence Directorate, exposed and detained a Belarusian spy in Kyiv who was trying to infiltrate the Defense Forces of Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n
