Petro Poroshenko shared touching memories of Andriy Parubiy on social media, who would have turned 55 today.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Friend, today you should have turned 55. But in my memory I still remember that terrible day at the end of a hot summer, when an assassin’s bullet took your life. It is still difficult to talk about Andriy in the past tense. It is difficult to realize that he will no longer enter our transparent office, will not appear in the hall of the Verkhovna Rada. It is difficult to accept that he is no longer around,” Poroshenko writes.<\/p>\n

“Today, within the walls of the parliament are your photos, from which you look at us, which depict your entire journey. A student at Lviv University, the first national liberation rallies, later political and public activity. Here is a photo with Vyacheslav Chornovil in the Lviv Regional Council. Later, the Orange Revolution, the Maidan Self-Defense, work in the Verkhovna Rada. The historic moment when we won the Language Law. And here you are with a gun in your hands in Kyiv in 2022… Here are your family and friends… Photos that forever imprinted who you really were,” the fifth President writes.<\/p>\n\t

According to him, Andriy Parubiy has always been one of those who are able to bear responsibility: “he did not look for convenient solutions and did not choose easy paths. He chose the right ones. He remained a human being – in his own office, in the parliamentary hall, on the Maidan. For him, power was not a privilege – it was a duty. A duty to those who stood by him, who trusted and supported him.”<\/p>\n\t

“Andriy thought in terms of the state. Army, Language, Faith, European choice – for him these were not slogans, but the foundation without which Ukraine would not survive. He knew how to see years ahead and took responsibility for the decisions that shaped our future. He never betrayed himself. Because he knew: a compromise with conscience is a defeat, even if outwardly it appears as a victory,” Poroshenko notes.<\/p>\n\t

“Such people do not leave forever. They remain in the principles that we must preserve. In the state that they helped to maintain. In the path that they paved for future generations. Andriy, you are greatly missed… And it still hurts,” Petro Poroshenko writes.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the investigation received new key evidence in the case of the murder of MP Andriy Parubiy.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the court extended the preventive measure of detention for a 52-year-old resident of Lviv, who is suspected of the murder of Ukrainian MP Andriy Parubiy.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n
