On the evening of January 30, in the village of Bobovyshche, Mukachevo district, a drunk driver caused a traffic accident, resulting in the death of a passenger. The police detained the driver and opened criminal proceedings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> by the police of the Transcarpathian region.<\/p>\n

It is noted that the police received a report of a traffic accident with victims on Myru Street at around 8:30 p.m. The investigative and operational group of Police Department No. 1 of the Mukachevo District Police Department and investigators from the regional headquarters went to the scene.<\/p>\n

During the initial investigation, law enforcement officers established that the accident involved a Fiat car. A 50-year-old resident of the village of Mykulivtsi, Mukachevo district, while driving the vehicle, did not take into account the road conditions and, while driving on the bridge, hit the right-hand reinforced concrete fence, after which the car overturned.<\/p>\n

A 44-year-old passenger, a resident of the same village as the driver, was in the car. He died at the scene from his injuries, while the driver did not suffer significant injuries. <\/p>\n

The driver was examined for intoxication, and 2.41 ppm of alcohol was recorded in his body, which is more than 12 times the permissible norm. The man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the vehicle was seized and placed on a special police site.<\/p>\n

Investigators entered information on this fact into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 3 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Expert studies have been ordered as part of the proceedings, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that on January 29 , a traffic accident involving a school bus and a Skoda Fabia passenger car occurred<\/a> in the village of Zagorodya, Vyshnivetsky community, Ternopil region. As a result of the collision, a passenger in the passenger car, born in 1961, was injured and was hospitalized.<\/p>\n
