The second round of trilateral peace talks between Ukraine, Russia and the United States, scheduled for February 1 in Abu Dhabi, has been postponed for several days. This happened after representatives of the United States and Russia met in Florida.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is noted that the talks were supposed to take place on Sunday, but Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on social media that the meetings had been postponed to Wednesday and Thursday. The reasons for the delay have not been officially specified.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff met with Kirill Dmitriev, the Kremlin’s special envoy and head of Russia’s national wealth fund. Details of the discussions were not made public, but Witkoff called the meeting “productive and constructive.”<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are encouraged by this meeting that Russia is working to ensure peace in Ukraine,\u201d said Steve Witkoff.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Russian media, citing their own sources, claim that the trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi were postponed to the middle of the week by agreement of the parties.<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy said on Saturday evening that the Ukrainian side is in regular communication with the Americans and is awaiting details of further meetings. He did not specify that the talks would not take place on Sunday, but hinted at a possible postponement.<\/p>\n

As is known, the first round of trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi took place on January 23-24 and was assessed by Kyiv, Moscow and Washington as “constructive”. Despite this, significant obstacles to achieving peace remain. The issues of territories in eastern Ukraine and security guarantees remain unresolved.<\/p>\n

The next round of talks is expected to focus on the US’s 20-point plan, which includes possible territorial arrangements, security guarantees and plans for rebuilding the country.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the next talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia in Abu Dhabi will be held on February 4 and 5.<\/a><\/p>\n

Recall that the Special Representative of the President of the United States, Steve Witkoff, stated that the meetings in Florida with the Russian Special Representative, Kirill Dmitriev,<\/a> were productive and constructive. The talks took place within the framework of the US mediation efforts to promote a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
