In January 2026, Russia’s oil and gas sales revenues fell significantly, reaching their lowest levels since July 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Russian Finance Ministry, last month’s revenues amounted to 393.3 billion rubles, which is half the amount in January last year. At the same time, the Kremlin received 447.8 billion rubles from the sale of oil and gas in December 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The reduction in revenues was caused by a decrease in the price of crude oil and a strengthening of the ruble, the news agency explains.<\/span><\/p>\n

The sale of raw materials is an important element of filling the Russian budget. Revenues from oil and gas make up almost a quarter of revenues.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is predicted that the Kremlin will receive 8.92 trillion rubles from the sale of oil and gas this year, and the total amount of revenues will be about 40.283 trillion rubles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recall that the European Commission plans to propose to EU member states to abandon purchases of Russian oil<\/a> by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n
