Estonia and Latvia have advocated for Europe’s participation in peace talks on Ukraine and called for European countries to return to the negotiating table.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated in separate interviews with Euronews<\/a> by Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silin\u0117 and Estonian President Alar Karis.<\/p>\n

Silinya stated that the European Union should join the negotiations, as Ukraine is already in dialogue with Russia.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“I think we need to engage in diplomacy. We always need to talk, but we need to isolate Russia and, as before, apply sanctions to it,” she said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the Latvian Prime Minister, the EU should be represented at the negotiating table, and European negotiators could include French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.<\/p>\n

Estonian President Alar Karis did not name specific candidates, but emphasized that the representative should come from a major European country and have authority on both sides.<\/p>\n

“We should have a voice too, but as you can see, we are a little late. We should have started this earlier – not President Trump, but the European Union,” Karis said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He added that several years ago, Europe held the position of refusing dialogue with the aggressor, but now it is forced to acknowledge its absence at the negotiating table.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that a new round of peace talks between delegations from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia will take place in the near future.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Ukrainian negotiating team is adjusting its work against the backdrop of a massive Russian missile and drone attack on a number of regions.<\/a> <\/p>\n
