As a result of rocket attacks on the Burshtyn Thermal Power Plant, the city of Burshtyn was temporarily left without heat, hot and cold water.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the city mayor Vasily Andrieshin.<\/p>\n

According to him, the situation at the power plant remains very critical. The mayor noted that the plant is currently out of service due to the strikes. Residents are left without heat and water, but heat is expected to be restored within 48 hours, either from the thermal power plant or from the city’s boilers.<\/p>\n

Andrieshin explained that hot water will only be available to homes once the power plant resumes operation. If heat is supplied by boilers, there will be no hot water in either apartment buildings or private homes.<\/p>\n

The Burshtyn City Council reported that in the event of a prolonged district heating outage, the commission has decided to switch to gas boilers. The municipal enterprise “Zhilishnik” has been instructed to start up 8 and 10 MW boilers within 24 hours, shut off hot water supply in private homes, and notify residents of the need to drain water from the heating networks.<\/p>\n

Apartment building managers were also instructed to shut off hot water supplies, as the boilers only supply heat, not hot water.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on the night of February 7, Russian troops launched<\/a> attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, specifically substations, overhead power lines, and the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, it was reported that Russian forces had launched a major strike on key energy infrastructure in Ukraine<\/a> . Substations, power lines, and thermal power plants were hit. Due to the aftermath of the attack, Ukraine requested emergency assistance from Poland.<\/p>\n
