In the Lviv region, three young children died in a fire in their home. Police detained their mother, who, according to investigators, left the children unattended for the entire day while she went to work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the police of the Lviv region.<\/p>\n

The tragedy occurred on February 7 in a village in the Lviv district. According to law enforcement, a 31-year-old woman left for work that morning, leaving her three sons, ages 2, 4, and 6, at home. Investigators determined that the children had been left unattended throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Around 9:30 p.m., the mother returned home and found her children unresponsive. Inside, she noticed the aftermath of a fire\u2014burned household items. The woman called paramedics, but they only confirmed the children’s death.<\/p>\n

Police detained the mother. A criminal case has been opened under Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine\u2014malicious failure to fulfill responsibilities for the care of a child or a person under guardianship or trusteeship. The penalty under this article is up to five years’ imprisonment or restricted freedom. A notice of suspicion is expected to be issued against the woman soon. <\/p>\n
