The Russian military is trying to recruit Ukrainian citizens to illegally activate Starlink terminals through state services. The occupiers are offering a reward of up to 10,000 hryvnias for participation in the scheme.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced<\/a> by Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine for Technological Areas.<\/p>\n

The activation of Starlink satellite communications has become critically important for the Russian military after some of the terminals were blocked. Due to communication problems, the occupying forces are looking for ways to restore access to the technology, in particular by involving Ukrainians in registering the equipment for themselves.<\/p>\n

For the Russian army, satellite internet is one of the key tools for coordinating units and controlling drones. After restricting access to some terminals, the Russian military is forced to look for alternative means of communication or try to bypass the blockade.<\/p>\n

It is reported that the occupiers are trying to create a network of people who are willing to register equipment through administrative service centers for a monetary reward.<\/p>\n

According to the advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense on communications, Sergei Beskrestnov, call sign “Flash”, the Russian military is using primitive methods to gain access to satellite terminals.<\/p>\n

“Traitors are right not to rush, because we will compare the enemy’s Starlink numbers with the ASN data and “lovers of easy money” will receive 15 years or life imprisonment if this Starlink causes people to die,” he said.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian structures are able to verify information about terminal owners and detect illegal schemes for their use. Control over equipment registration is considered one of the mechanisms for countering the use of technology by the enemy.<\/p>\n

Experts say satellite communications allowed Russian forces to transmit video from drones in real time and maintain communications between assault groups and command. After losing some access to Starlink, these capabilities have been significantly limited, and alternative solutions remain difficult to implement in combat conditions.<\/p>\n

The day before, Advisor to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy \u201cFlash\u201d Beskrestnov reported on attempts by the Russian military to restore access to Starlink terminals in the occupied territories<\/a> . According to him, the mass blocking of terminals has complicated the management of Russian units.<\/p>\n

By the way, a decrease in the number of assault operations by Russian troops was recorded at the front<\/a> after the blocking of unregistered Starlink satellite internet terminals.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said that the Starlinks included in the “white list” are working, and the Russian terminals have already been blocked.<\/a><\/p>\n
