Part of the ill-gotten gains from the entourage of the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Ivan Bakanov, settled in the Office of the President.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, citing a statement<\/a> by Ukrainian businessman Serhiy Vaganyan during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission to investigate corruption during the war.<\/p>\n

According to Vaganyan, he has evidence that Bakanov received funds from him and other businessmen.
“I have photo and video evidence of how Bakanov took money from me and other businessmen. We are talking about tens of millions of dollars,” he said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

When asked by TSC members whether he believed that Bakanov received these funds and transferred them to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Vaganyan answered in the affirmative.
“Yes, I think so,” said the businessman.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He also reported that he has audio, photo, and video evidence of Bakanov receiving illegal monetary benefits.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Separately, Vaganyan spoke about his last conversation with Andriy Naumov, which, according to him, took place in early September 2021. Then Naumov allegedly called him at night to the back office on Lavrskaya Street, where the businessman was demanded to pay $20 million.<\/p>\n

“I was told that in a week or two I would be appointed head of the Odessa regional administration instead of Hrynevetsky. I replied that I didn’t want this and didn’t understand why I was being forced to do this together with Bakanov. Why did Bakanov go to the president and resolve this issue with the president,” Vaganyan said.<\/p>\n

According to him, after refusing to cooperate and leaving Ukraine, he began to be pressured by the SBU. In particular, in 2025, a new episode of a criminal case was opened against him, searches were conducted, pressure was exerted on his acquaintances and relatives, and their assets were seized.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This, according to Vaganyan, was the reason for the public release of this information.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the end of the TSC meeting, the businessman stated that, in his opinion, “Zelensky partially knew what Bakanov was doing in the SBU.”<\/p>\n

As a reminder, in January, businessman Serhiy Vaganyan revealed details of the functioning of a large-scale corruption system in the Security Service of Ukraine<\/a> during the chairmanship of Ivan Bakanov. According to him, the special service was transformed into a tool for systematic racketeering by big business and the collection of informal payments.<\/p>\n

In addition, as Vaganyan reported, one of the money laundering schemes was the imposition of NSDC sanctions on competitors<\/a> of the famous smuggler Oleksandr Akst. The businessman claims that Akst shared profits with the leadership of the SBU.<\/p>\n

It has become known that businessman Serhiy Vaganyan, who cooperates with the NABU and the FBI, is ready to testify<\/a> about how Bakanov and Naumov took money from Russian special services. <\/p>\n
