Ukraine\u2019s allies have pledged $35 billion in military aid, a move aimed at bolstering the country\u2019s defense capabilities and reaffirming long-term international support.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to NATO News<\/a>, this has been reported.<\/p>\n

British Defense Secretary John Healy said during a briefing that allies have agreed on a new package of military support for Ukraine. He stressed the importance of unity among partners in countering Russia.<\/p>\n

“Next week will mark 4 years since Putin launched a full-scale war against Ukraine. A war he thought he would win in a week and a war he has now been waging in Ukraine for longer than Russia and Germany fought during World War II,” said John Healy.<\/p>\n

According to him, the decision on funding is a common position of the allies and a signal to Russia regarding further support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“I can confirm that today we have agreed to $35 billion in new military support for Ukraine. The Contact Group has a clear message to Putin: we are more united and determined than ever. We will increase the pressure on Russia,” said John Healy.<\/p>\n

The UK Defence Secretary noted that providing Ukraine with air defense systems remains a key priority for the Allies. He announced a separate contribution from the UK.<\/p>\n

“For its part, the UK is providing the highest level of support for military assistance to Ukraine ever. And at this meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, I announced a new emergency air defense assistance package for Ukraine worth half a billion pounds\u2014this is a top priority for President Zelenskyy,” said John Healy.<\/p>\n

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius noted during the discussion that significantly more resources will be crucial to effectively defending Ukraine\u2019s territory in 2026.<\/p>\n

According to his estimate, Ukraine\u2019s requirements could total around $60 billion.<\/p>\n

John Healy emphasized that supporting Ukraine is a strategic focus for the Allies. He added that partner countries will continue to coordinate the supply of ammunition and air defense systems in the coming months.<\/p>\n

By the way, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Sweden have agreed to allocate $500 million for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine<\/a> as part of the PURL initiative. The funding will be used to strengthen air defense and provide the Ukrainian army with ammunition.<\/p>\n
