The Security Service of Ukraine reported on the intensification of attempts to recruit Ukrainians by Russian special services using operations “under a foreign flag.” In particular, the enemy poses as representatives of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and forces citizens to perform sabotage tasks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by the press service<\/a> of the SBU.<\/p>\n

According to the special service, Russian representatives call or write to citizens, posing as employees of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies, in particular, the State Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and the National Police of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

At the same time, attackers can use dating sites to obtain citizens’ personal data, blackmail them with fictitious criminal liability, or extort money for allegedly closing fake criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n

In addition, according to the special services, the enemy sends fake “summonses” to Ukrainians in messengers demanding that they appear before an investigator. After that, the person is called and offered help in “closing the case”, in return demanding that they complete the assigned tasks.<\/p>\n

Russian special services also use fake female accounts on online dating services. During communication, they collect personal data of Ukrainians, after which they are contacted by a curator who introduces himself as an SBU employee and accuses them of collaborating with the enemy. In order to avoid alleged responsibility, citizens are offered cooperation.<\/p>\n

According to the SBU, recruited individuals may be forced to monitor people or transport, carry unknown packages, set fire to administrative buildings or Defense Forces vehicles, and prepare sabotage at important facilities.<\/p>\n

The special service emphasized that the SBU works exclusively within the framework of current legislation and does not set dubious tasks for citizens. Ukrainians are urged to observe information hygiene and report any suspicious offers to law enforcement officers.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Russian military began to pressure the families of Ukrainian prisoners<\/a> , forcing them to register Starlink satellite terminals in their own names.<\/p>\n

This is due to the fact that the day before, Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov said that the Starlinks included in the “white list” are working, and the Russian terminals have already been blocked.<\/a><\/p>\n
