Croatia responded to requests from Hungary and Slovakia regarding the possibility of transporting Russian oil through the Adria pipeline.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Croatian Economy Minister Ante \u0160u\u0161njar stated<\/a> on the social network X that today no EU country has technical reasons to remain dependent on Russian oil.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, Croatia acts responsibly in matters of regional energy security and is ready to assist partners, in particular Hungary and Slovakia, while respecting Ukraine’s position.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“Croatia will not allow fuel supplies to Central Europe to be jeopardized. We are ready to help resolve the acute problem of supply disruption within the framework of EU legislation and OFAC rules. No one should be left without fuel,” \u0160u\u0161njar wrote.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, the minister emphasized that Europe should not remain tied to Russian oil.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“A barrel bought from Russia may seem cheaper to some countries, but it helps finance the war and attacks on the Ukrainian people. It’s time to stop this speculation on war,” he added.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Hungary initiated negotiations with Croatia regarding the transportation of Russian oil via the Adriatic route after the termination of transit via the Druzhba pipeline, which passes through the territory of Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban publicly stated that Budapest would not allow Ukraine to join the European Union<\/a> , and also accused Kyiv of interfering in the country’s domestic politics.<\/p>\n
