Security Service employees and police officers detained a terrorist who, on the orders of the Russian special services, blew up a car in Odessa on February 16.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press service of the SBU.<\/p>\n

As is known, the man made a homemade bomb and placed it under the bottom of an SUV that was parked near the entrance of an apartment building.<\/p>\n

The owner of a vehicle, who was nearby, was injured as a result of the explosion.<\/p>\n

As the investigation established, the terrorist attack was prepared by a 33-year-old unemployed man recruited by the enemy, who came to the attention of Russian special services while searching for “easy money” in Telegram channels.<\/p>\n

After being recruited, the agent received detailed instructions from a Russian curator on how to make an improvised explosive device from improvised materials. He later purchased them from hardware stores. The man then made explosives from them, which he equipped with a mobile phone for remote detonation.<\/p>\n

Later, the agent conducted additional reconnaissance at the site of the planned terrorist attack, planted explosives under a car, and installed a disguised smartphone nearby. With its help, the occupiers monitored the situation around the “target” and carried out a remote detonation.<\/p>\n

During a search of the detainee’s residence, components for making SVP and smartphones, from which he had contacted the Russian curator, were seized.<\/p>\n

Currently, investigators of the Security Service have informed the agent of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act).<\/p>\n

The perpetrator is in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n
