The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the State Bureau of Investigation and the National Police, have exposed and neutralized six new mobilization evasion schemes in various regions of the country. The organizers offered conscripts to avoid conscription through fictitious documents or helped them cross the border illegally.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the press center of the SBU.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the cost of the “services” ranged from 2 to 15 thousand dollars. In the Odessa region,<\/strong> law enforcement officers detained a deputy of one of the city councils, who simultaneously headed the city hospital and was a member of the military medical commission as a neurologist. He sold certificates of unfitness for service in order to obtain a deferral. Also, a lawyer was exposed in the region, who promised to organize fictitious diagnostics of serious diseases through familiar doctors for a fee. <\/p>\n

In the Carpathian region,<\/strong> the SBU and SBI officers detained the deputy head of one of the regional departments of the State Emergency Service. The official was arranging military conscripts to a branch of Ukrzaliznytsia for a bribe to obtain reservations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A businessman was exposed in the Kyiv region<\/strong> who was selling fake documents of citizens of one of the European Union countries. He pasted photos of clients into real foreign passports and driver’s licenses obtained through criminal connections abroad.<\/p>\n

Two residents of Kryvyi Rih were detained in the Dnipropetrovsk region<\/strong> , who were registering conscripts for a critical infrastructure enterprise with subsequent business trips outside Ukraine.<\/p>\n

In Cherkasy region,<\/strong> suspicion fell on the head of a department of one of the village councils, who organized the delivery of clients to the border in his own car and coordinated their illegal crossing along mountain trails. <\/p>\n

The suspects were charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including illegal smuggling of persons across the state border, aiding and abetting in obtaining unlawful benefits, and abuse of influence. They face up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police blocked eight more schemes for evading mobilization and illegally crossing the state border in various regions of Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, in Vinnytsia region, law enforcement officers detained a representative of a public organization who promised help in evading military service for money.<\/a> <\/p>\n
