The European Commission is demanding that Ukraine set clear deadlines for repairing the Druzhba pipeline. The pipeline supplied Russian oil to Europe and was damaged at the beginning of the year.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Due to Russia’s attack on a section of the pipeline, oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia have been suspended since January 27.<\/p>\n

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused Ukraine of delaying the resumption of supplies, saying it was pressure on Hungary due to its reluctance to join the EU. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto also believes that the transit was not resumed for political reasons.<\/p>\n

Both countries have asked Croatia to help deliver oil. But Croatian Economy Minister Ante Su\u0161njar said that would not happen. He explained that buying Russian oil is cheap, but it finances the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The European Commission says there is currently no oil shortage in Hungary and Slovakia, as supplies are sufficient. It is also monitoring the situation and is awaiting a timetable from Ukraine for pipeline repairs.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, Hungary initiated negotiations with Croatia regarding the transportation of Russian oil<\/a> via the Adriatic route after the termination of transit via the Druzhba pipeline, which passes through the territory of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As reported, Croatia responded to requests from Hungary and Slovakia<\/a> regarding the possibility of transporting Russian oil through the Adria pipeline.<\/p>\n
