Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina<\/span><\/span> (No. 9 WTA) reached the quarterfinals of the WTA 1000 hard court tournament in Dubai, UAE.<\/p>\n

In the 1\/8 final match, the Ukrainian defeated the world’s 13th-ranked Belinda Bencic<\/span><\/span> (Switzerland) in three sets in two hours – 4:6, 6:1, 6:3.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This was the sixth head-to-head meeting between the opponents, and Svitolina won her fourth victory in the confrontation.<\/p>\n

In the tournament’s quarterfinals, Elina will face Croatian Antonija Ruzic<\/span><\/span> (WTA No. 67), who defeated Elena Rybakina<\/span><\/span> (WTA No. 3) in her match. The Kazakh tennis player withdrew in the third set due to ill health. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
