As of the morning of February 19, hundreds of settlements in a number of regions were left without electricity due to Russian shelling, hostilities, and bad weather.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported<\/span><\/a> by Ukrenergo.<\/span><\/p>\n

In particular, consumers in frontline territories and in regions where Russians have purposefully attacked Ukrainian energy facilities have been cut off. These include the Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, energy professionals are trying to eliminate the consequences and restore service to subscribers where security conditions allow.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, 458 settlements in six regions \u2014 Mykolaiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Kharkiv \u2014 are completely or partially without power due to heavy ice, sleet, and gusty winds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, most regions are under power-restriction schedules for industry, while hourly outages and, in some places, emergency power outages are in effect for residential consumers. The restrictions were caused by previous massive Russian shelling.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe need for economical energy consumption remains today. Please limit the use of powerful electrical appliances. If possible, postpone energy-intensive processes to night hours – after 11:00 p.m.,\u201d Ukrenergo urged.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company warned that the situation in the power system may change during the day, so it is recommended to follow the latest information on the official pages of the distribution system operators.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on key Ukrainian energy infrastructure<\/a> . Main substations, power lines, and thermal power plants were hit. In connection with the consequences of the attack, Ukraine turned to Poland for emergency assistance.<\/p>\n
