In Kyiv, patrol police officers, together with rescuers from the State Emergency Service, conducted an operation to rescue children who got lost in the sewers under the capital. The children were found in the drain on Khreshchatyk and brought to the surface, their lives are not in danger.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department, Oleksiy Biloshitskyi.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the 112 hotline was contacted by children who reported that they were lost in the sewer and were very cold.<\/p>\n

“The sewer network is a dangerous labyrinth, where blockages, leaks of poisonous gases, or sudden flooding can occur at any moment. There was no time to delay – we immediately set off on a search,” said Biloshitsky.<\/p>\n

Patrol officers, together with rescuers, examined the manholes and storm sewers.<\/p>\n

“We quickly found children in the sewer on Khreshchatyk,” added Biloshytskyi.<\/p>\n

After discovering the children, patrol officers calmed them down, and rescuers pulled them out of the underground trap. According to Biloshitsky, the children are fine.<\/p>\n

Juvenile prevention workers are working at the scene, investigating all the circumstances of the incident.<\/p>\n

“I appeal to parents: talk to your children about safety. Explain that curiosity should not put them in danger. Our shared responsibility is to preserve their lives and health,” the official emphasized. <\/p>\n
