The foreign ministers of the European Union countries have not reached an agreement on the 20th package of sanctions against Russia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, at a press conference after the meeting.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an agreement on the 20th package of sanctions. This is a failure and a signal that we did not want to send today, but the work continues,” she said.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 said that Budapest was ready to veto the new sanctions package.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to him, Hungary will not support decisions important to Kyiv until Ukraine resumes oil transit to Hungary and Slovakia through the Druzhba oil pipeline.<\/p>\n

Thus, the 20th package of sanctions remains uncoordinated, and negotiations between EU countries are ongoing. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As a reminder, the European Commission is demanding that Ukraine set clear deadlines for repairing the Druzhba pipeline.<\/a> The pipeline supplied Russian oil to Europe and was damaged at the beginning of the year. <\/div>\n
