France and Great Britain are ready to deploy their contingent on the territory of Ukraine, but there are still unresolved issues regarding this.<\/strong><\/p>\n

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said<\/span> this in an interview with AFP<\/span> , quoted by<\/a> Ukrinform.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Great Britain and France are ready to allocate a brigade each. Brigades are different, in our understanding today, up to 5 thousand is one brigade. When we signed the declaration with all participants of the Coalition of the Willing, we understand that France and Britain are ready to provide a brigade each,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the president, some other countries are also giving signals about their readiness to send troops to Ukraine.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the question of the location of the contingent remains open. Zelensky added that no one wants to be on the front line.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Of course, Ukrainians would like our partners to be on the front line with us. I think that’s logical,” he noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, officials from some European countries hope to deploy up to 30,000 peacekeepers in Ukraine<\/a> as part of the deployment of a foreign contingent after the ceasefire.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that the Ukrainian and French presidents and the British Prime Minister signed a declaration<\/a> of intent regarding the future deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the UK Defense Secretary John Healy said that his country is ready to send its military personnel to Ukraine<\/a> , but only after peace is achieved. The country has already identified military units that it can send to Ukraine<\/a> , and is ready to quickly transfer them after a possible peace agreement is reached.<\/p>\n
