The fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion of the Twelve Years’ War in the centuries-long confrontation with the Horde. The question remains: could this invasion have been avoided? Were there other scenarios?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is clear that Putin attacked back in 2014. When Ukraine was officially neutral. The medals were minted with the date when Yanukovych, loyal to Moscow, was still the president. It is clear that Moscow in its current form puts empire above all else. In 2013, Putin had all the benefits that could be bought with Russian resources and cheated out of for Russian reputation. And yet he climbed to break Ukraine under himself, to revive the empire.<\/p>\n

The heroic defense of 2014-15 and the diplomatic trap for Putin in Minsk stopped a large-scale war and determined further actions: Ukraine and the world must deter Russia from renewing aggression, and look for opportunities and wait for the moment to return the occupied.<\/p>\n

However, this path required great skill. War is not arithmetic, but mathematics. Ukraine had to constantly demonstrate the ability and readiness to inflict losses on the aggressor that would not justify the invasion. The way to this was missile programs, fortification of dangerous areas, constant improvement of weapons and training of troops…<\/p>\n

This is what was canceled after 2019, after “looking into Putin’s eyes”, after the negotiations in Oman.<\/p>\n\t\t
