Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban wrote an open letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He wrote<\/span><\/a> about this<\/span> on the social network X.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMr. President, for four years you could not accept the position of the sovereign Hungarian government and the Hungarian people regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war,\u201d the message says.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is noted that Ukraine allegedly tried to drag Hungary into a war with Russia, while enlisting the support of Brussels and the Hungarian opposition.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe also see that you, Brussels, and the Hungarian opposition are coordinating efforts to bring a pro-Ukrainian government to power in Hungary,\u201d Orban is convinced.<\/span><\/p>\n

He stated that Ukraine had recently blocked the Druzhba oil pipeline, which is key to Hungary’s energy supply. According to him, this contradicts Budapest’s interests.<\/span><\/p>\n

He called for a \u201cchange in anti-Hungarian policy\u201d \u2014 to restore the pipeline and \u201crefrain from any further attacks on Hungary\u2019s energy security.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

“We, the Hungarian people, are not responsible for the situation Ukraine has found ourselves in. We sympathize with the Ukrainian people, but we do not want to participate in the war. We do not want to finance the war effort and we do not want to pay more for energy,” the Prime Minister emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Orban previously announced the possible cessation of electricity supplies to Ukraine<\/a> if oil transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline is not resumed.<\/p>\n

Recall, Orban recently reacted to a media publication about Ukraine’s accession to the EU in 2027<\/a> , stating that Brussels and Kyiv “declared war” on Budapest.<\/p>\n
