The Japanese government is allocating 6.2 billion yen, or about $41 million, for Ukraine’s priority reconstruction needs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery Oleksiy Kuleba and Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Masashi Nakagome signed an agreement in the form of an exchange of notes on the provision of grant assistance within the fifth phase of the Emergency Recovery Program.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The funding will be directed towards strengthening municipal infrastructure, developing the healthcare system, supporting the agricultural sector, and public broadcasting.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will distribute the funds in four designated areas.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to Kuleba, the agreement paves the way for the finalization of a grant agreement with JICA, which specifies the list of projects and procurements. He emphasized that the support covers both critical infrastructure and the medical and media sectors, which play a key role in the stability of the state.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Ukraine received $690 million in grant support from Japan and Canada within the Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine mechanism of the G7 countries.<\/a><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the European Parliament adopted a package of proposals aimed at supporting Ukraine with an EU loan of 90 billion euros for 2026 and 2027.<\/a> <\/p>\n
