MP from the Servant of the People party Vladlen Neklyudov stated the need to restrict or ban the game “Roblox” due to the threat to national security and children’s health. In this regard, he sent an appeal to the Prime Minister of Ukraine and a number of state bodies for a comprehensive study of the issue.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said<\/a> this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to the deputy, there are a number of games online that promote violence, war, debauchery, and spending money by minors, which can lead to addiction and negative behavior patterns.<\/p>\n

“As a result of the influence of some online games, children lose interest in learning and show disrespect for their parents. A separate scary factor is that there are many users on the platform who can commit illegal acts of a sexual nature against children, force them into prostitution, extort, offer and distribute prohibited psychotropic and narcotic substances and drugs, etc.,” said Neklyudov.<\/p>\n

He noted that the problem, in his opinion, intensified under martial law, when parents allowed their children to use gadgets and Internet resources more.<\/p>\n

“This problem is another consequence of the introduction of martial law in Ukraine and constant active hostilities, when parents tried to distract their children from the horrors of war by allowing them to use gadgets, social networks, and Internet resources more,” the MP said.<\/p>\n

Neklyudov also stated that as a result of the influence of such games, children may become involved in illegal activities, which, he said, leads to an increase in latent crime among minors.<\/p>\n

The deputy reported that he sent an appeal to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the leadership of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as to relevant central executive bodies, in particular the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“I believe that we can and should thoroughly study this issue and make every effort to limit the younger generation’s access to certain gaming platforms and protect them from negative consequences,” said Neklyudov.<\/p>\n

We would like to remind you that the State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development has introduced restrictions on access to a number of web resources. In particular , this applies to pornographic sites; phishing and fraudulent platforms; torrent resources and file-sharing platforms; online games, gambling sites and similar entertainment resources<\/a> ; and other Internet sites that are not related to the performance of official duties.<\/p>\n
