Each educational institution retains autonomy and makes decisions taking into account the situation in the region.

Kuzmychova noted that power outages vary by region. In the western and central regions, vacations were extended less often than in Kyiv and frontline communities. Currently, the Ministry of Education and Science sees no reason to extend the school year beyond the end of June.

At the same time, the ministry will analyze the situation in the spring, in particular the state of the power system. If necessary, the approaches may be adjusted.

In difficult conditions, schools are organizing distance learning, including in an asynchronous format. Students complete assignments when there is light and upload them to platforms, and teachers check work when they have access to electricity.

If the teaching time is insufficient, educational institutions can continue teaching in June in a format optimal for the community.

Regarding spring vacations, schools will also determine their dates themselves. If the winter vacations lasted longer due to the shutdown, school days can be compensated for at the expense of the spring period. The Ministry of Education and Science emphasized that decisions to postpone or shorten vacations will be made only if necessary.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

The academic year in Ukraine will officially last until the end of June 2026, but schools will independently determine the duration of studies and vacation schedules.
