Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, together with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, proposed on February 27, 2026, to establish a joint investigative commission to assess the condition of the Druzhba oil pipeline. The commission aims to verify the actual condition of the pipeline and ensure uninterrupted oil supplies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He wrote about this in X.<\/a><\/p>\n

Orban stressed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s refusal to resume oil supplies through Druzhba jeopardizes Hungary’s energy security.<\/p>\n

“Another day has passed, and President Zelensky still has not resumed oil supplies through the Druzhba oil pipeline. His refusal continues to jeopardize Hungary’s energy security. Oil supplies must be restored immediately!” the Prime Minister wrote.<\/p>\n

He also added that Hungary is aware of the technical condition of the pipeline, and the suspension of supplies was due to a political decision.<\/p>\n

“We know that the pipeline is working. We know that oil supplies to Hungary have not resumed due to a political decision by President Zelensky. We also know that President Zelensky is traveling around Brussels, claiming that the pipeline cannot be restarted,” Orb\u00e1n noted.<\/p>\n

In his video address, Orban announced that together with Fico, he had agreed to create a joint investigative commission to assess the condition of the oil pipeline.<\/p>\n

“I agreed with Robert Fico that we will create a joint investigative commission. The task of this investigative commission will be to go to the scene and see for ourselves the reality of the situation,” the Hungarian Prime Minister said.<\/p>\n

Orban called on the President of Ukraine to grant the commission permission to enter Ukraine and to ensure the necessary conditions for its work so that the inspection is effective and transparent.<\/p>\n
