Ukraine destroyed a modern communications system that helped Russian Shahed drones enter the north of the country from the direction of Belarus.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced this at a meeting with journalists, Ukrainska Pravda writes.<\/a><\/p>\n

According to him, the Ukrainian side eliminated the so-called Mesh network, which was used to coordinate drones.<\/p>\n

“We managed to eliminate the Mesh network used by the Shahed in the north, which had a positive impact on the defense capability of Kyiv and the central part of Ukraine,” Fedorov said.<\/p>\n

The minister did not specify the details of the operation and the method of destroying the system.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Adviser to the Minister of Defense Sergey Beskrestnov explained that such a network works on the principle of mutual relay, when each drone transmits a signal to the others. For full-fledged operation, it was connected to control points in Russia and Belarus.<\/p>\n

According to him, the nodes resembled mobile phone towers 70-80 meters high with powerful antennas pointing towards Ukraine. Through them, operators received data and coordinated attacks.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the Russian army began using Shahed kamikaze drones as carriers for FPV drones.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, Russia is modernizing its drone tactics in the war against Ukraine. The Gerber UAV was first used as a carrier of an FPV drone.<\/a> <\/p>\n
