Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He stated that the death of the Iranian leader is a violation of international law and expressed condolences to Iran.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a telegram published on the Kremlin’s official website, Putin expressed condolences to Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian over Khamenei’s death.<\/p>\n

“This is a cynical murder in violation of all norms of human morality and international law,” Putin said.<\/p>\n

According to the Russian president, Khamenei will be remembered in Russia as “an outstanding statesman who made a huge contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.”<\/p>\n

Putin also expressed “condolences and support” to Khamenei’s relatives, the government and people of Iran.<\/p>\n
