QatarEnergy, one of the world’s largest natural gas producers, has completely halted production after Iranian “Shaheed” strikes on its facilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Reuters reports<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

Qatar halted production of liquefied natural gas on March 2, and Saudi Arabia shut down the country’s largest oil refinery after a drone attack. Israeli and US strikes on targets in the region, as well as Iran’s retaliatory actions, have led to widespread shutdowns of oil and gas facilities across the Middle East.<\/p>\n

Reuters notes that the wave of attacks has been going on for the third day. As a result, companies have stopped most of the oil production in Iraqi Kurdistan and the work of several large gas fields in Israel.<\/p>\n

The Qatari government said two Iranian “Shaheeds” attacked an energy facility owned by QatarEnergy on Monday. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage.<\/p>\n

Following the attacks, the company announced a complete halt to liquefied natural gas production at the facility. Qatar is one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of LNG.<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura oil refinery in Saudi Arabia has suspended operations after an attack. According to preliminary data, the strike on the facility was carried out by a drone.<\/a><\/p>\n

As a reminder, on Monday, March 2, global oil prices rose sharply amid the escalation of the conflict over Iran<\/a> and risks to supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. The cost of the benchmark Brent crude reached its highest level since January 2025, showing the largest increase in 4 years.<\/p>\n
