He died in July 2022 near Izyum in the Kharkiv region. Ever since we first met in Yekaterinovka in 2018, at the positions of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade, our collaboration and friendship began. Laughter and conversation erupted. We loved reading his poems, and we still do. Because it&#8217;s hard to describe the war more succinctly than he did. Deep and to the core. He was just as talented at killing orcs, spending six years at the front. Not only his death in battle, but also his life. Today, Gleb would have turned 57. Thank you for living as few can. Honestly. Sincerely. You wrote hundreds of poems, did so much for the front, your comrades, and for Ukraine. I believe that now you are that angel watching over us from heaven, protecting and guiding us in our struggle,&#8221; the fifth president is convinced.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;The Earth must be maintained by the living. Here in paradise, there are already enough children and heroes. You see, a good omen\u2014despite the war, the storks have returned to their nests. Well then. I&#8217;ll go help. Give me a pixel and a weapon.&#8221; While you&#8217;re up there in heaven, we&#8217;ll hold on to our land as long as we can. We&#8217;re working, brother,&#8221; Poroshenko writes.<\/p>\n<p> Until 2019, Gleb Babich was a platoon commander in the 10th Separate Assault Brigade. After February 24, 2022, he became a member of the Kyiv Troops. He has composed over 500 songs and poems. The optical reconnaissance systems he designed along the front lines saved the lives of many Ukrainian soldiers. The veterans&#8217; organization &#8220;Res_Publika. A vote was held on the Kyiv Digital app. In January 2024, the Kyiv City Council passed a resolution renaming the street in honor of the Hero and Poet.
