The US used the new PrSM missile against Iran for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the US Central Command CENTCOM, which released a video of the launch from the HIMARS rocket system.<\/p>\n

The Precision Strike Missile was developed by Lockheed Martin as a replacement for the aging MGM-140 ATACMS. It has a maximum range of up to 500 kilometers, compared to 300 kilometers for the previous version.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The PrSM has received an upgraded guidance system that combines inertial navigation and GPS, and provides higher accuracy of destruction. The warhead weighs about 91 kilograms.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The missile is designed to hit control points, air defense systems, warehouses, airfields, radar stations, and other well-protected objects.<\/p>\n

Serial production of PrSM started in July 2023.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported on Russia’s use of the new Izdelye-30 cruise missile against Ukraine.<\/a><\/p>\n
