The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv ordered the Prosecutor General’s Office to initiate a pre-trial investigation into Roman Chervinsky’s statement regarding People’s Deputy Maryana Bezugla.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Investigative Judge Novak upheld the complaint about the inaction of the Prosecutor General’s Office and ordered the UCP officials to enter information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations and begin an investigation.<\/p>\n

This concerns the possible commission of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – disclosure of a state secret, which resulted in serious consequences. <\/p>\n

According to the defense attorney, on September 10 and 13, 2021, Roman Chervinsky and other officers testified before the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada in the so-called Wagnergate case. Before the interrogation began, the TSC members were officially warned about the secrecy regime and the presence of state secrets.<\/p>\n

Despite this, as the applicant’s side claims, the head of the TSC, Mariana Bezugla, gave an interview to the media on the same day, in which she provided details of the operation and information about the participation of specific servicemen in it.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The lawyer emphasizes that the disclosure of the names of the participants in the intelligence operation created real risks for them. According to him, the Russian FSB publicly called the Wagnergate operation an act of terrorism, which, in the applicant’s opinion, put the officers under direct threat from the special services of the aggressor state. <\/p>\n
