On Tuesday, March 3, the sanctioned Russian-flagged tanker Arctic Metagaz, which was transporting liquefied natural gas, caught fire in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to one source, the ship was likely attacked by a UAV. However, there is no confirmation of this.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the news agency, Ukraine is suspected of carrying out the operation.<\/span><\/p>\n

So far, neither the SBU, nor the Russian LNG producer Novatek, the ship’s manager, nor the Russian Ministry of Transport have commented.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, it is known that the tanker last reported its location off the coast of Malta the day before, on March 2.<\/span><\/p>\n
