On Wednesday, March 4, Iran launched a ballistic missile into Turkish airspace, and Ankara declared its right to attack in response.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported by<\/span><\/a> the Turkish Ministry of Defense.<\/span><\/p>\n

As noted, the missile was detected as it crossed the airspace of Iraq and Syria and was later neutralized.<\/span><\/p>\n

NATO air and missile defenses deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean were deployed to counter it.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of the actions taken, debris fell on the territory of Hatay province in Turkey. There were no injuries or deaths as a result of the attack, the defense ministry noted.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur determination and ability to ensure the security of our country and citizens are at the highest level. While Turkey supports regional stability and peace, it is capable of ensuring the security of its territory and citizens, regardless of who or where the threat comes from. Every step taken to protect our territory and airspace will be taken decisively and without hesitation,\u201d the Ministry of Defense assured.<\/span><\/p>\n

Turkey stressed that it reserves the right to retaliate, while calling on the parties to the conflict in the Middle East to refrain from actions that could escalate the situation in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn this context, we will continue consultations with NATO and our other allies,\u201d the ministry summarized.<\/span><\/p>\n

As is known, Iran is building up its arsenal of long-range missiles and drones<\/a> , which are theoretically capable of hitting not only Middle Eastern countries, but also parts of Europe, including Ukraine.<\/p>\n

As a reminder,the UAE has suffered hundreds of missile and drone strikes<\/a> by the Iranian military, killing people and injuring dozens.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Iranian drones attacked residential buildings in the Bahraini capital of Manama<\/a> . Civil defense extinguished fires and conducted rescue operations at the sites of the hits.<\/p>\n
