The total daily export volume was only 12 MWh.

As of March 6, companies have reserved a total of 120 MWh for export at daily auctions. The highest capacity is at 10:00 – about 20 MW.

Analysts note that Ukraine’s energy system operates very dynamically, and the balance between production and consumption changes almost every minute.

According to Daria Orlova, an analyst at ExPro electricity market, the possibility of export at certain hours does not mean the absence of a deficit in other periods.

The system surplus is due to active solar generation and consistently high production at nuclear power plants. At the same time, there may be a capacity deficit at some hours as part of the generation damaged by Russian attacks is still under repair.

Electricity imports remain significant. According to ExPro, Ukraine imported about 27,000 MWh on March 5. The largest volumes occur during the evening peak hours, when the capacity of interstate lines reaches about 1.4 GW.

Electricity exports from Ukraine were suspended on November 11, 2025. In February, electricity imports increased by 41% compared to January and reached 1.26 million MWh, while there were no exports during this period.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Ukraine resumed electricity exports on March 5 after a several-month hiatus.
