US President Donald Trump<\/span><\/span> said he supports a possible offensive by Kurdish groups into Iran<\/span><\/span> .<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said this in a telephone interview with Reuters<\/span><\/span> .<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Trump said he was open to the idea of the Kurds launching offensive actions.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“I think it’s great that they want to do this, I would be all for it,” the US President noted.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At the same time, Trump did not answer reporters’ questions about whether the US<\/span><\/span> would provide air support to the Iranian Kurds, or had already offered it. He emphasized, however, that the primary goal of such actions should be victory.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“If they’re going to do it, that’s good,” he added.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, on February 28, Israel launched preemptive strikes against Iran and also attacked Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon<\/a> . A state of emergency was declared throughout the country.<\/p>\n

It later emerged that the strikes on Iran were a joint operation between Israel and the United States<\/a> . Following this, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had launched a military campaign in Iran<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Iran also struck naval targets near the UAE capital Abu Dhabi<\/a> , including the French naval base Camp de la Paix and near the German cruise ship Mein Schiff 4.<\/p>\n
