The United Kingdom has sent a team of military counter-drone specialists to the Middle East to strengthen the defense of military bases against possible attacks from Iran. The unit includes soldiers who previously trained with Ukrainian units and learned methods of combating Russian drones.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to journalists, British troops arrived in the region on Tuesday, March 3. It is expected that additional forces may join them in the near future.<\/p>\n

The group includes members of the 12th Regiment Royal Artillery, a British army unit that specializes in counter-drone operations. They have also previously helped train Ukrainian soldiers in the use of rocket weapons.<\/p>\n

According to sources, the British military was dispatched at the request of several Middle Eastern states. The deployment involves two separate groups of military personnel.<\/p>\n

“The first group are Britons who have experience working in Ukraine and with Ukrainians, and they will be able to offer specialist advice, particularly on how they can combine drone sensing, warning and targeting,” the source said.<\/p>\n

The exact location of the base where the British troops were deployed has not been disclosed. According to sources, no large-scale mobilization of additional forces has been announced, so the newly arrived troops will likely replace those already in the region.<\/p>\n

By the way, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine will provide assistance to the United States in countering Iranian drones in the Middle East<\/a> after Washington’s request. This includes the transfer of the necessary equipment and the participation of Ukrainian specialists to ensure protection against Shahed-type drones.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the United Kingdom will bring in experts from Ukraine to help shoot down Iranian drones in the Persian Gulf<\/a> . This decision was made against the backdrop of appeals from partners in the region to strengthen protection against attacks.<\/p>\n
