They are under tremendous pressure. And it&#8217;s up to them to withstand this pressure. They have the support of the Ukrainian people, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the Commissioner for Human Rights, the European Commission, politicians, and civil society activists, because it&#8217;s impossible to impose unlimited lifelong sanctions for an illusory potential threat to national security,&#8221; Poroshenko noted.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Thirteen months have demonstrated that there&#8217;s nothing. Neither the president, nor the government, nor society, nor Europe have anything to say,&#8221; the party leader stated. Poroshenko also stated that illegal sanctions are preventing the protection of people and businesses from Russian missiles and Shaheds.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Enterprises critical to Ukraine&#8217;s economy are granted the right to independently use acquired air defense equipment to protect people and protect production facilities. <a href=\"https:\/\/zakon.rada.gov.ua\/laws\/show\/1506-2025-%D0%BF#Text\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Clause 7 states<\/a> that this resolution does not apply to legal entities or enterprises owned by sanctioned persons. I cannot protect people because the government says sanctioned persons are prohibited from protecting and are prohibited from selling air defense equipment,&#8221; the fifth president recalled. As is known, on January 24 and February 6, missile and drone strikes were carried out on industrial facilities of the company ROSHEN, resulting in fatalities.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;This month, businesses will be left without protection because Resolution 1506 was passed by the Svyrydenko government against me. This was done to leave tens of thousands of workers without protection. To drain working capital. To mock both me as the opposition leader and the entire political team. To mock the European prospects of our country. I sincerely hope that the judges have sufficient civic capacity, integrity, patriotism, and professionalism,&#8221; Petro Poroshenko noted.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;I am currently the only person in the world subject to both Putin&#8217;s and Zelenskyy&#8217;s sanctions. The sentence handed down to me by a Russian court for terrorist and extremist activity, which involves supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces, will remain, because we have no intention of ending our support. And Zelenskyy&#8217;s illegal, non-European, extra-constitutional, and extra-judicial sanctions, especially given the ECHR ruling, must be lifted,&#8221; Poroshenko believes.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;This is a mockery of justice and of European prospects. Unfortunately, yesterday, at the ambassadors&#8217; meeting in Brussels, a decision was made because Ukraine had halted reforms. For three months, not a single reform that Ukraine had committed to implement has been put to the vote. So, unfortunately, talk of Ukraine&#8217;s membership in the European Union in 2027 remains empty,&#8221; the fifth President stated.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;We need to stop. We need to strengthen democratic resilience, which will unite the entire country so that we can move closer to peace, closer to membership in the European Union, closer to membership in NATO,&#8221; Petro Poroshenko emphasized.<\/p>\n<p> Earlier, during a Supreme Court hearing hearing a lawsuit to overturn Zelenskyy&#8217;s illegal sanctions decree, Petro Poroshenko stated that these sanctions hinder the protection of people and businesses from Russian missiles and Shahid missiles.<\/p>\n<p> Earlier <a href=\"https:\/\/eurosolidarity.org\/2025\/10\/06\/nezakonni-sankcziyi-proty-poroshenka-u-verhovnomu-sudi-splyvaye-dedali-bilshe-falsyfikaczij-i-porushen-zakonu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">in the case,<\/a> it became known that some of the documents on the basis of which the sanctions were imposed were submitted to the National Security and Defense Council retroactively, after the decision had been made and the Decree had been signed.<\/p>\n<p> Poroshenko&#8217;s lawyers have added documents to the case file proving the identical wording in publications about Poroshenko on resources linked to Portnov, in the corresponding<a href=\"https:\/\/petition.president.gov.ua\/petition\/240812\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">petition<\/a> , which did not receive the necessary votes, and in the justification for sanctions in President Zelenskyy&#8217;s decree.<\/p>\n<p> The court also included in the case file the ECHR&#8217;s decision of October 16, 2025, in which the European Court of Human Rights found that sanctioned persons in Ukraine lacked sufficient opportunity to protect their rights and due procedural guarantees against arbitrariness during judicial review of the decision to impose sanctions.<\/p>\n<p> At previous Supreme Court hearings, evidence of falsified sanctions against Poroshenko was examined. Poroshenko&#8217;s lawyers <a href=\"https:\/\/eurosolidarity.org\/2025\/11\/21\/poroshenko-u-verhovnomu-sudi-ti-sami-lyudy-yaki-rozkradaly-derzhavu-odnochasno-golosuvaly-v-rnbo-za-nezakonni-sankcziyi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">showed<\/a> a film produced by the 1+1 television channel in which Zelenskyy directly admitted that the National Security and Defense Council is his weapon and that he uses it because it&#8217;s more effective than following the law.<\/p>\n<p> Government officials also stated that sanctions against Poroshenko were imposed for educational purposes. <a href=\"https:\/\/eurosolidarity.org\/2025\/08\/19\/predstavnyczya-zelenskogo-u-verhovnomu-sudi-vyznala-shho-v-ukaz-shhodo-sankczij-vnosylys-zminy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">President Zelenskyy&#8217;s representative to the Supreme Court also acknowledged<\/a> that amendments had been made to the signed decree implementing the National Security and Defense Council&#8217;s decision to impose sanctions against Poroshenko, which she described as &#8220;technical corrections.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"https:\/\/eurosolidarity.org\/2025\/07\/24\/predstavnyczya-zelenskogo-u-verhovnomu-sudi-pidtverdyla-shho-nbu-nezakonno-zaprovadyv-sankcziyi-proty-poroshenka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">President Zelenskyy&#8217;s spokesperson also confirmed earlier during the meeting<\/a> that the National Bank of Ukraine illegally imposed financial restrictions on Petro Poroshenko.<\/p>\n<p> Before making a decision, the court announced a recess until April 3.<\/p>\n<p> Also follow <strong>&#8220;Pryamy&#8221;<\/strong> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pryamiy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Facebook<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/prm_ua\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">X<\/a> , <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/+rtV4dxYu2_cyNjVi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Telegram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/pryamiy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the 13-month trial in the Supreme Court, government officials failed to provide grounds for imposing sanctions.
