The European Commission has criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s remarks about Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Brussels said such statements about European Union member states are unacceptable.<\/strong><\/p>\n

European Commission Deputy Spokesperson Olof Gill commented on the statement of the President of Ukraine during a conversation with journalists on March 6.<\/p>\n

\u201cRegarding President Zelensky’s comments: we, as the European Commission, clearly state that such wording is unacceptable,\u201d said Olof Gill.<\/p>\n

He also emphasized that there should be no threats in relations between European Union countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere should be no threats against EU member states,\u201d Olof Gill added.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he hopes to receive a 90 billion euro loan from the European Union to pay for weapons. According to him, these funds are currently blocked by Hungary.<\/p>\n

Zelensky also said that he would transfer the address of “one person” who is blocking the first tranche of the loan to the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet them call him and communicate in their own language,\u201d said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n

In Hungary, the words of the Ukrainian president were called a “threat” and “blackmail.”<\/p>\n

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico also reacted to the situation and stated that such statements could influence the decisions of other European Union countries.<\/p>\n

“If the Ukrainian president continues in the same spirit, it may happen that other EU member states will also block the 90 billion loan for Ukraine,” said Robert Fico.<\/p>\n
