Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko commented on the detention of Ukrainian tax collectors in Hungary and demanded the immediate release of Ukrainian citizens. She also called on international partners to respond harshly to the incident.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She wrote about this in X.<\/a><\/p>\n

Yulia Svyrydenko said that Ukraine demands the immediate release of its citizens, who she said were illegally detained in Hungary. She stressed that Kyiv is working to bring those involved in the incident to justice.<\/p>\n

“The Ukrainian government demands the immediate release of our citizens. We will take appropriate measures to hold accountable those involved in their detention,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister of Ukraine also stated that the actions of the Hungarian side towards the collectors are reminiscent of situations that occurred in Moscow in the 1990s.<\/p>\n

She suggested that the incident occurred shortly after the Budapest representatives’ trip to Russia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be strange if this situation had not occurred a few days after the visit of Budapest representatives to the Kremlin,\u201d said Yulia Sviridenko.<\/p>\n

In addition, Svyridenko called on international partners to respond to the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cSuch arbitrary detentions by the Hungarian side should receive clear international condemnation,\u201d said Yulia Svyrydenko.<\/p>\n

It is noted that Hungarian Foreign Minister P\u00e9ter Szijj\u00e1rt\u00f3 was visiting Moscow on February 4. At that time, Russian President Vladimir Putin released 2 servicemen with Hungarian and Ukrainian citizenship who fought against Russia and were in captivity.<\/p>\n
