Russia is expanding military units on the borders with NATO countries and is using the war against Ukraine to gain combat experience for the army.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by Reuters, citing the annual Lithuanian intelligence report on security threats.<\/p>\n

The document notes that after the war, Moscow could use these units as a basis for a possible conflict with the North Atlantic Alliance.<\/p>\n

Lithuanian intelligence believes that if international sanctions are lifted, Russia could prepare for a large-scale war with NATO in about six years.<\/p>\n

The report also states that Russia is capable of forming an army that will be 30-50% larger than before the start of a full-scale war against Ukraine. In addition, Moscow will be able to restore strategic stocks of weapons and ammunition.<\/p>\n
