On the morning of March 8, Russian troops used a drone to attack a Kyiv-Sumy passenger train carrying approximately 200 people. There were no initial injuries.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sumy Regional Prosecutor’s Office<\/span><\/span> reported this in a commentary for Public Sumy<\/span><\/span> .<\/p>\n

According to law enforcement, the Russians struck at around 5:30 a.m. The train was traveling from Kyiv<\/span><\/span> to Sumy<\/span><\/span> .<\/p>\n

A Lancet<\/span><\/span> -class attack drone was used in the initial attack. The strike damaged the diesel engine.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Train service was temporarily suspended to allow the locomotive to be replaced. Passengers were then transported to the final station by another locomotive.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Ukrzaliznytsia<\/span><\/span> press service clarified that no passengers or railway workers were injured in the attack. They also noted that no changes to the train schedule on this route are planned.<\/p>\n

As reported on March 2, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba announced a Russian attack on a civilian Ukrzaliznytsia commuter train in the Kryvyi Rih district of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. The attack killed one person and injured seven others.<\/a><\/p>\n
