The previous evening, the Hungarian government supported the proposal of the leader of one of the factions and adopted a resolution to seize money and valuables from Oschadbank.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This<\/span> was reported by<\/span><\/a> “European Truth”.<\/span><\/p>\n

The special government resolution is called \u201cOn the necessary measures in connection with the unusually large amount of cash and gold bars transported through the territory of Hungary, in order to protect the national security interests of the state.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The document states that 35 million euros and 40 million dollars in cash, as well as 9 kilograms of gold, were seized from the Ukrainian bank’s cars that were seized near Budapest.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, it states that the property was not transported in accordance with normal international practice, and the legal grounds for transportation through Hungarian territory were not established at the inspection site.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe method of transporting the property and the individuals who carried out the transportation posed risks to national security,\u201d Hungarian government representatives are convinced.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, it is emphasized that the transportation of money over the previous 4 years allegedly “intensifies” the threats to Hungary.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a government decree by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, they are allegedly planning to check the identities of the carriers and their “possible connections with criminal or terrorist organizations,” as well as the consequences of the transportation for the country’s national security.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It is also important to find out whether part of the said property was used on the territory of Hungary, and if so, to whom exactly and for what purpose it was transferred,” the decision states.<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, the head of the Hungarian Fidesz faction, Mate Kocsis, proposed seizing the money and gold<\/a> seized from the Ukrainian Oschadbank last week.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Hungarian authorities in Budapest detained seven Ukrainian citizens<\/a> \u2013 employees of Oschadbank \u2013 and seized the money they were transporting. At the same time, Orban visited the anti-terrorist center<\/a> on the day the collection cars were seized. Later that day, security officers from this unit seized a car with currency and gold.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, seven Oschadbank collectors, who had previously been detained in Hungary, were deported from the country<\/a> and returned to Ukraine<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the National Bank of Ukraine is working to return the cargo from the collection vehicles<\/a> that were detained by Hungarian authorities. The regulator called the incident a provocation without legal grounds.<\/p>\n

It is known that Oschadbank demands that Hungary return the collection vehicles and valuables<\/a> that were detained on the territory of the country.<\/p>\n
