The SBU reported the suspicion to Iranian General Abdollah Mehrabi in absentia. He is suspected of supplying engines for Shahed suicide drones that Russia uses against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the investigation, in 2022-2023, Mehrabi organized the supply of MD-550 engines to the Russian Federation. Such engines are installed on Shahed-136 drones.<\/p>\n

The SBU says that the engines were transferred to the Russian Ministry of Defense. After that, they were used in the production of drones on Russian territory.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Russian army uses these drones to strike Ukrainian cities and infrastructure.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, Mehrabi heads the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He is also linked to an Iranian company that produces engines for drones.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

He was charged with aiding and abetting the waging of an aggressive war.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the regional police headquarters identified another war criminal who, in the spring of 2022, detained and tortured a couple who helped the Ukrainian military.<\/a><\/p>\n
