Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has recently become more harsh in his statements towards allies and critics amid the protracted war and the difficult situation with peace negotiations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Columnist Jamie Dettmer notes that the Ukrainian leader’s frustration with the West’s actions is becoming increasingly visible and reflected in his public statements.<\/p>\n

In particular, Zelenskyy reproached European countries for their slow support for Ukraine, engaged in a sharp polemic with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and also questioned US President Donald Trump’s approach to ending the war.<\/p>\n

The material notes that the tougher tone may be related to the impasse in negotiations and uncertainty about further financial assistance to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

At the same time, some of the publication’s interlocutors believe that such rhetoric may create risks for relations with partners on whom Ukraine depends for military, financial, and diplomatic support.<\/p>\n

Analysts also warn that it is important for Kyiv to maintain the support of allies in Europe and the United States.<\/p>\n

“He needs to be a little more careful when it comes to criticizing allies,” said analyst Natia Seskuria of the Royal United Services Institute.<\/p>\n
