Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian military has thwarted a new Russian offensive and regained control over some territories. According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have recaptured 434 square kilometers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He spoke about this on CNN<\/a> .<\/p>\n

Zelenskyy said that Russia was preparing a large-scale offensive operation, which it planned to launch at the end of last year and continue in the spring.<\/p>\n

“Russia was preparing a new major offensive operation and planned to launch it at the end of last year and continue it in the spring of this year. They were preparing this operation, and we were carrying out counter-offensive steps, parallel actions,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.<\/p>\n

According to the head of state, Ukraine tried to prevent a massive offensive by Russian troops on the battlefield. To this end, parallel actions by Ukrainian forces were launched at the end of the year, which allowed to disrupt the prepared operation.<\/p>\n

As a result of such actions, the Ukrainian military was able to regain control over 434 square kilometers<\/strong> of territory.<\/p>\n

The President also noted that new approaches to the use of drones play an important role in deterring Russian forces. The Ukrainian military is actively using FPV drones and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles, which allows it to inflict significant losses on Russian units.<\/p>\n

According to Zelensky, thanks to such technologies, the Russian army loses about 45,000 soldiers every month.<\/p>\n

Earlier, military-political observer Oleksandr Kovalenko reported that the Russian invaders are preparing for the spring-summer campaign<\/a> , focusing on several strategic areas. Although the main blow of the invaders is planned for Zaporizhia and the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk direction, the Kharkiv region remains a zone of active maneuvers to distract Ukrainian forces.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Russian troops are trying to completely capture Pokrovsk and Mirnograd<\/a> in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian units in the group’s area of responsibility are holding back enemy attacks. It also became known that as of March 6, Russian troops had advanced near the village of Pokrovka<\/a> , Krasnopil community, Sumy region.<\/p>\n
