In Slavyansk, a man opened fire on police officers during a document check – one law enforcement officer was killed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Donetsk region police.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred on March 19 at around 11:30 a.m. According to preliminary information, while checking the documents of a suspicious man, he suddenly started shooting at the police officers.<\/p>\n

Police Captain Oleg Zakharenko, a senior police officer at Police Department No. 4 of the Kramatorsk District Police Department, died on the spot from his injuries.<\/p>\n

“During the checking of the documents of a suspicious man, he opened fire on the police unit,” law enforcement officials reported.<\/p>\n

The attacker fled after the shooting. Efforts are currently underway to detain him, with all relevant services working at the scene.<\/p>\n
