To do this, they are using cheap Molniya drones as carriers for FPV.

This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

According to analysts, the occupiers are striking at a depth of up to 40-50 km from the front line. In particular, in the Kupyansk direction they are using the Molniya as a so-called “mother” drone.

According to the Ukrainian military, this drone delivers FPV drones to the rear, after which they attack targets. Civilian vehicles and infrastructure are often hit.

ISW notes that such tactics fit into the general campaign of the Russian Federation aimed at disrupting Ukraine’s logistics.

At the same time, the Ukrainian military is recording enemy losses. According to their data, in just three days, over 100 Molniya drones were destroyed in one direction.

After restricting access to Starlink, Russian units faced problems controlling drones and coordinating actions. To replace them, they are using radio communications, fiber optic lines, and the Comet satellite system.

However, these solutions are inferior to Starlink in terms of speed and stability. ISW emphasizes that this has already affected the combat capabilities of the Russian troops, but they continue to adapt.

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian military, taking advantage of favorable conditions after blocking Starlink terminals and the Telegram messenger for Russians, began to conduct counterattacks at the front.

Recall that the Russian military began to put pressure on the families of Ukrainian prisoners, forcing them to register Starlink satellite terminals in their own names.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Russian forces are trying to compensate for the limitations of Starlink access and are changing their tactics for using drones on the frontline.
